Walker needs to be dismissed from the team and University.
If he isn't, we'd be sending the wrong message to the people we're trying to get to the games.
Getting stoned the night before a huge game is about as stupid as you can get. We don't need any more stupid on campus, we've got plenty.

No real argument there, Halftime.. IDK if Tyler's infractions were unrelated to each other, or if the team's trials this fall warranted keeping a senior onboard. But Reevo is correct there needs to be zero tolerance for assaults.

I think most of us agree that we don't condone smoking weed or drinking alcohol for student athletes and it should lead to temporary suspension but if true as Reevo says regarding Walker thats a horse of a different color...

Walton can't shoot but Hazen is supposed to be able to at least be a functional shooter. Hazen is probably about a 30 % three point shooter. Let's see where he is next year, I think he'll be better. In addition, he can score on the drive and can post up. He will be a difficult match up for opponents, more versatile than Sellers, more steady than Teague this year. I agree with the discussion we've seen here about losing a lot of perimeter firepower, have wanted us to get a lights out shooter in recruiting all along. Our offense will change as a result. But, I do think we'll see good shooting from Gunn, and think we'll be a better team because we improve athleticism, defense, can get people better looks outside. We'll see.

Heres the deal I do not think smoking weed caused any of this but had Whit punished Tyler more and not turned a blind eye. Maybe just maybe something would have clicked and the whole walker thing might not have escalated as it did. Who knows though but none of it is a good look

Must be fun being a college basketball coach. Getting a call early in the morning of one of your biggest basketball games of the year and learning one of your starting five is in jail and will not be playing. Wonder who Walker called after getting arrested. Would it had been Whitford?

Pretty sure the conversation begins and ends with an eyewitness saying he saw Walker repeatedly strike a woman in the head. His weed smoking is so far removed from the conversation at that point that it shouldn't remotely matter.

Smoking weed the night before the biggest conference game of the year, sorry but I have a big problem with it.

When you're a basketball player on scholarship, THAT'S YOUR F&#@ing JOB. If my boss caught me smoking dope, you think I'd still have a job? But yeah, I'm not discounting the assault charge. That is by far the more concerning issue. But the legalization of pot in some states is already having an effect on how it's accepted in states where it's still illegal. I could go on a tirade about how a generation that's already lost is going to be even more devastated by drugs, but then we'd have Spin Control.

Kids are smoking up the night before, the day of and would at halftime if the coach let them. Its not a basketball thing its a sport thing and it happens at all schools.

It's my inclination not to reach any conclusions until the matter has been completely adjudicated.
He is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, which requires more than just the report of an eye witness. Until that eye witness withstands a competent cross examination under oath their statement is worth didly.
