If you have to play slow pace, I'm not sure that's the answer. We need a guy who is NOT the center of our plans but who steps up when we need THAT simple brutal thing he has!
About 15-20 minutes of bad ass seems about right to me.
We're at about 2 minutes now...

Having a tough dude inside does not mean you have to play at a slow pace.

Having a tough dude inside does not mean you have to play at a slow pace. especially if mobile and his rebounding allows others to get out and run. If the guy does nothing but set great screens hits the boards, and defends he has a place, fills a need for this team.

It feels to me like Teague and Moses are much more aggressive in second halves than first. Perhaps this is purposeful, to avoid foul trouble.

Possibly UJ, but from my view we just aren't aggressive by nature. Tough to play out of your comfort zone I guess but we can't afford to wait until the last 20 minutes to play against better teams especially on the road. That will bite us in the a** and it has already.

Dead on about Teague and Moses. Seems they’re barely out there the first 20 mins and then do good work in the second half. We need em the full game.

That will bite us in the a** and it has already. This is the problem with no depth. Really get hurt with a couple of early fouls, especially if the z's are going to call a close game. I can't gripe too much about trying to get the lay of the land on officiating on the road, may want our front line to feel things out a little. But if we are going to ask Moses to play with caution, we really have to have the guards go strong to the basket and get the reading that way. Do it early, try to get their big guys to have some fouls, save our guys. I get that theory. BUT. If they are not calling the game close, then Moses has to play harder. Sorry Trey, not your thing, but you need your big boy shorts notched on tight, and have to do it. You are right that the worst thing that happens is the other team just jumps on you when you are passive.

Someone who likes to do research should see how the other MAC teams freshman are doing. That might help us further discuss some issues
