Time to play the Rookies at quarterback

By my figuring, Wentz could play 4 more games and 3 quarters before the colts would lose the 1st rounder. I don't think the colts will consider benching Wentz unless mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Teams hate, hate, HATE doing things like that...even if it makes strategic, long-term sense.
Looking at the schedule, the colts are likely to be 5-7, after the next 4 games, and NOT mathematically eliminated from the wildcard. I would advise you don't get your hopes up about the 1st round pick. UNLESS the colts manage to lose to either the Jets or Jags the next two weeks. Then things could get a little interesting. They would be realistically eliminated but not mathematically eliminated. So.......I guess I still couldn't see them benching Wentz. A Wentz injury is your best hope for that first round pick.

They won't bench Wentz regardless because Frank and Chris will refuse to even entertain the appearance that they were wrong in backing Wentz. Unless there is some form of long-term injury, the current regime stick with Wentz to the bitter end (which if Frank's playcalling doesn't improve may be sooner than we think)

That interception out of our own end zone was one of the dumbest things I've seen a starting quarterback do.
As well as he plays most of the time, he makes some really boneheaded decisions sometimes. And this one cost the game.

As far as backing Wentz, what other choice did they have ? It's not like Wentz has been has been terrible, he simply does knuckle head things when under pressure.

His coach called plays that put him in a no win situation. Can share blame. Too cute.

Henry might be out for the rest of the season, so that gives the Colts some hope.

Titans a pretty good team with Henry. Unfortunate their best play and Colts woes in a poor start included 2 games with them.
Reich at least takes the blame here.
Probably a game they did not need quite such aggressive game plan.
Fans, players aren't going to like tanking and they may be good enough with players returning to action to not do that.

As is so often the case where NFL rushing is concerned, Henry's importance to the Titans is heavily overrated by fans who buy into the constant, tough-guy nonsense they hear from commentators.
Henry has had two poor games against the colts where his large number of carries was a huge drag on the TN offense. TN won both games. Likewise Henry had a poor game when TN crushed Kansas City, and had a good lead almost the whole game. Henry had a very good game against the terrible Jets, which TN lost.
Henry's efficiency is very up and down. TN will miss his good games, but will benefit where they don't feel obligated to give him 25+ carries, even when he's getting 3 or fewer YPC.

He clearly wasn't right yesterday. The foot was definitely bothering him.
As for the Colts, I think Reich is their biggest problem. He always tries to outsmart the other team. The screen pass from their own end zone was idiotic. Sometimes its best to just do what is working.

You have a great RB and a lead, at least use RPO or play action more after a big lead, and forget going for it on 4th down when you have that lead.

See if they want to trade for Mack. You never trade within your own division. I wouldn't shit myself worrying about facing Mack. See what they will offer and then make a decision. If Henry comes back next season (which he likely will) there is a good chance the Titans might trade Mack before the Colts ever have to face him anyway. You will get more from the Titans right now, than anyone else this season. If we had won yesterday I would probably agree with you, but we aren't going to catch them now.

Except....you don't win by running. Except when you do.
180 yards and 4 TD's on the ground, 1 where he got a pass and ran through defenders to score, the Colts have an awfully good RB and used him to beat the Bills. Admittedly not the Bills from a Super Bowl, but they got crushed by a running game today.
