Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Groucho... And 00, apparently. I think 00 leans more towards Karl Marx.

I think 00 leans more towards Karl Marx. I am so upset at that. Why, I'd horse-whip you if I had a horse.

Not so clear whether he can do the same with any of our players.
Coleman becomes MAC version of MJ, no nonsense offense and defense?
Bumbalough becomes playmaker?
Windham becomes both 3 and D player?
Pearson becomes glue as role player who does what is needed wherever he plays?
Hendricks becomes reliable dialed in defender who vacuums up rebounds? (gasp)

Lewis was just on Dakich and was excellent. He’s got a plan. Pretty clear by all the things he talked about that our previous coach taught our guys very little about the game and how to win. Mentioned that our guys are getting coached a lot tougher/harder than they’re used to, the requirement of attention to detail is more than what they were used to and the level of accountability is higher than used to. Lewis actually did a scout for Depaw that he normally wouldn’t do to get them used to dialing in on details. He said they didn’t follow the scout details in the first half and it showed in our play. His biggest challenge appears to be teaching these guys how to win. He said they want to win, they just don’t have a clue how to. (Whit was never truly about winning). talked about how important the success of the program is to get “eyeballs” back on the school and everything we’ve got going on. Used butler as example. Lewis said when was coming out of high school if he didn’t play for iu or pu he’d have gone to bsu. That’s where our program was. Butler flipped the script on that and he wants us back at that level.
We’ll see what he can get out of the current team but I really feel like Lewis ultimately will be successful at BSU.

That sounds good to hear as a fan. There’s a story between the lines there too and it is what we’ve seen and suspected all along and that’s Whitford was way over his head as a head coach D1 program. I’m expecting we’ll lose some games we were the better talent but the learning curve will be the player's friend by the end of the year.

I had a big question mark about our OC schedule but now see that concentrating on the details of the game against so called easy opponents may be a good thing. Hard to concentrate on details when you ae getting your ass beat by a power 5 early season team.

Excellent interview. It seems he has the ability to be a very good coach. He does need to watch his mouth on the court!
