That crowd looked bigger than 4,441. It did seem bigger but there were many holes in the season ticket section.

Ohio is up by 37 with 4 minutes to play. I think we can safely say they will be our opponent. Peaking at right time, they are. BG is hapless tonight. They are going to he tough for sure

Someone already commented on this, but Lewis commented in the pre-game on radio he had Bum and Coleman go through Senior Night along with Jacobs just in case they decided not to come back next season. That he (Lewis) didn't expect for Bum or Coleman to give him a definite answer now, but for them to be honored on Senior Night just in case they later decided not to come back. So in other words, the jury on both Coleman and Bumbaugh is still out. I thought it was kind of interesting, if not refreshing, that Lewis valued Senior Night. Whitford didn't seem to give a shit about it. Some seniors didn't even play on their senior night. I would also assume both Windham and Hendriks are coming back, or else Lewis would have had them honored too. Thsts all good but Bumbalough did not go through senior night That's interesting. Lewis sure made it sound like he was going to on the radio pre-game. I wonder how far in advance that segment is taped and why it didn't happen

I was critical of Sparks early to mid season for his “head down, one dimensional” play. I might be mistaken but he seems to now be putting the ball on the floor a little and actually looking a bit more mobile in driving ti the basket. Going out on a limb to assume he was being schooled on this throughout the season. No out on the limb here. The hallmark of this season IMO is how improved our players have become across the roster. Woodford's staff failed at improving the rosters as a whole. Look at Pearson and Jihad's improvement this year let alone Sparks. Just have to fill-in the spots through the portal and whatever recruiting is these days. I think Lewis will be on top of it.

We played about as poorly as we could have played, yet scratched and clawed it to within 3 and could've won without the countless gimme possessions on both ends of the floor. Toledo also was the beneficiary of an incredible number of ridiculous calls.
This team fights. They do stupid things, but they don't give up.
Lewis' level of success here really depends one thing - his ability to recruit (and show some guys the door to free up critical roster spots).
I'd say 4,400 looked accurate to me.

We have been a mediocre team on 3 pt. defense all year. Toledo took advantage of that big time. I liked the fight we had regardless. Tonight's officials were a Big Ten crew who are known for whistle happy moments, but as hot as Toledo shot, the refs were not that huge in the outcome. Hope Sparks is well by next Thursday along with Coleman. This tourney is definitely a "all-hands on deck" affair. Go Cards!

The Whitford era weaknesses that Lewis wasn't able to rid this team of included blocking out on defense, horrible defense of the 3 point line, and lack of aggression in getting to the lane. All 3 things really hurt us 4 of the last 5 games.

No one feared us before we were looked at as an easy win. Now we are tgecteam you dont wanna play. We are still 100% capable of losing to ohio though Alright, one game at a time. Are we feared by Ohio? Or are we gonna lose to Ohio? Cuz the Bobcats are horrible on the road. Or is Cleveland home for OU?

RayJ Dennis was unreal tonight. He’s the POY in my opinion. He’s better than Castaneda or Carry. Bates is an NBA talent but is not a teammate.
Toledo is way more talented than us and the final score didn’t really reflect how easily they kept us at bay. Every time we got close one of their guys made a basket or got fouled. We looked like a little brother for a good stretch of the second half.
I think Coleman is gone and DJ is out of eligibility. Keep your sophomore class and Pearson and go find four more guys with talent, smarts and a nut sack. Toledo, Kent and Akron have done it. Mike can too. This is not a championship squad and the fact Lewis has wrung twenty for this group is a testament to how good a motivator and development guy he can be. Now he’s gotta prove he can attract high level MAC guys. I think he can.

Yes boogie was also recognized he has not yet decided Oohh, I waiting on the edge of my seat to see if he wants to be with us next year! I will be heartbroken if he jilts BSU for a Butler, or an ISU, or by god, a Northwestern, in order to get some BIG10 or the resume (or CV! your choice in vernacular) Either commit or bounce, dude.

No one wants to play them either like us you just dont know. Ohio will travel as will Toledo but Akron and Kent are the teams that really get the hime court boost.

We lack shooters who consistently hit shots. Akron Kent Toledo have them. Your Dennis is player of year if hecdoes not get it the mac should be ashamed

Toledo is very good offensively. They played better this game than most.
We are not quite that good, but hardly is offense a weakness when at full strength.
We have had games where opposing fans would say same thing about us as you do about Toledo last night, rmc.
We have had much better defensive games. That I agree
Lack of depth, injury and fatigue was the difference. We cannot always expect the same intensity and alertness, even at home after the hard stretch we've had. A few days off and hopefully we recover that edge.
We have known that even full strength, best play Cleveland was going to be a long shot for reasons of depth.

Playing well is...if teams don't respect us they are poorly coached.

Momentum was swinging BSU’s way when Luke actually BLOCKED Dennis on the baseline. Scirroto blew his whistle and actually smirked about it afterward. Can’t stand that guy.
