Alright, one game at a time. Are we feared by Ohio? Or are we gonna lose to Ohio? Cuz the Bearcats are horrible on the road. Or is Cleveland home for OU? Like I said tough game they are much like us. No one wants to play them either like us you just dont know. Ohio will travel as will Toledo but Akron and Kent are the teams that really get the hime court boost. Ohio made 10 3's last night, we gotta be prepared to defend.

We have been a mediocre team on 3 pt. defense all year. Toledo took advantage of that big time. I liked the fight we had regardless. Tonight's officials were a Big Ten crew who are known for whistle happy moments, but as hot as Toledo shot, the refs were not that huge in the outcome. Hope Sparks is well by next Thursday along with Coleman. This tourney is definitely a "all-hands on deck" affair. Go Cards! Every time I thought we were gassed we hung in and fought back. Momentum was swinging BSU’s way when Luke actually BLOCKED Dennis on the baseline. Scirroto blew his whistle and actually smirked about it afterward. Can’t stand that guy. Could not stop Dennis, great game by him. Needed Coleman at the end to both get his shot and get to line but also pass out of double team, without that extra offense we needed a hot hand by Jacobs or Bumb. We did not give up but looked just a half step slower as the game wound down.

He thinks he's the show out there on the floor.

Kind of like another notorious showman, TV Teddy.

RayJ Dennis was unreal tonight. He’s the POY in my opinion. He’s better than Castaneda or Carry. Bates is an NBA talent but is not a teammate. Toledo is way more talented than us and the final score didn’t really reflect how easily they kept us at bay. Every time we got close one of their guys made a basket or got fouled. We looked like a little brother for a good stretch of the second half. I think Coleman is gone and DJ is out of eligibility. Keep your sophomore class and Pearson and go find four more guys with talent, smarts and a nut sack. Toledo, Kent and Akron have done it. Mike can too. This is not a championship squad and the fact Lewis has wrung twenty for this group is a testament to how good a motivator and development guy he can be. Now he’s gotta prove he can attract high level MAC guys. I think he can. Dennis is easily the best player in the league. Yes, Lewis needs to clean house or be eaten by the dog eat dog world of college basketball coaching. We have too many guys on the bench who just flat out play by necessity yet don't contribute. It's hard to describe how bad Cleary was last night. Bumb did nothing except get called on a clean block on Dennis. Windham is bad. Hendricks must go. It's gut check time for Lewis in terms of roster management and recruiting.

Kind of like another notorious showman, TV Teddy. How about when he called the foul near halfcourt on Bumb despite him being positioned in the corner and his vision was blocked by at least 3-4 guys, yet there's another ref in position right next to the play?

Totally different in my opinion. We absolutely knew we are getting smoked by tge upper teams with Whit. We really were not fir the most part even competitive. Now we are truely in the conversation st least. We will not win we do not have enough when even 100 healthy. The MAC is guard based and the Best teams have Killer guards. Cary, Casteneda and Dennis. We need a dawg like that The MAC is truly better than it has been in some time, and we are playing right with them every night. Unfortunately BSU has a tendency to still play to its competition, which would explain the inexplicable loss at Western. There are still dregs, but the top half of the conference is much better than the days when it was just the East dominating. It's really too bad we couldn't maintain a fraction of our "golden years" level, because we could have really made hay for about a decade and hung a slew of MAC banners when the level of play sucked. Maybe even have gotten lucky in the NCAA one year.

Yes. If it was right before a timeout then that was actually the "smirk" play. Or both.

Two freshmen just can't be written off at this point.
Cleary has not been ready to play this year despite international experience and JUCO, but last night was not all that bad, and I agree with the post above that he has physical tools and is improved over the year. It certainly does appear he suffers from playing zone defense all his life, apparently followed by no defense at all as a JUCO.
Bumb is Bumb, not all bad a reserve player but not at all a waste.
Windham is potentially a reserve with a role as an offensive spark off the bench, did start earlier, and he has played well enough to have value. None of that means we don't need to recruit replacements for Coleman and DJ, but they aren't worthless.
Hendricks, all would agree can probably be replaced easily enough and I tend to agree he will be gone.

I have no idea about the freshmen mainly because we haven't seen them (but the fact that we haven't seen them with the lack of depth we have may be somewhat telling). The rest of the guys - meh. I could see Bumb sticking around, but that's it. Cleary truly killed us last night - not sure what game you were watching.

I've heard Lewis likes Cleary but that he also drives him nuts. It's hard to imagine that he will be much of a contributor to the program with only one year of eligibility left. There's no question he's a freak in terms of bounce and jumping ability, but if you've watched him you know he plays zero D and doesn't know the offense. How do you not know the offense several months and 31 games into the season???

Darian Owens-White was not introduced last night. I would think that this will free another scholarship.
