In a lot of ways, this was one of the best performances I've seen recently. Whit's player never improved. These players have. I thought Hendrichs was a wasted scholarship, but Lewis worked with him and he has responded. Maybe my favorite player is Mason Jones. Man, he is everywhere, diving for balls, guarding their best player, now if he developed his offense... Exactly. Plays his rear end off but has no idea where he is on offense and has no confidence. He can do a lot of things. Put on some weight, develop his offensive game and he’ll be all MAC.

My prediction for Friday is we have a heroic, gut-checking, come from behind victory, only for Akron to phone it in and lose to WMU. The tough decision is should I drive to Bowling Green to witness it? Akron has to win for one seed do they care Yeah but I think they just lost to an emu.

Upon further review we are in with a win and western loss Eha also made a statement apologizing for calling it early they used info from the MAC office which was wriong The MAC office's primary function is to keep "D1" football going. So they carefully screen their hires for stupidity and inability to draw logical conclusions. Not surprising they would get this wrong.This. Shocked/not shocked they can't even get their new-fangled tournament right.

I will give props to Lewis on Hendricks development. He is much better compared to the Whitford years. It should not be to awfully long to find out who is leaving. Still hoping that 4 transfer out that are not named, Jihad, Doughty, Bailey, Anderson, Pearson, Middleton, Jones. I am assuming Hendricks will be back so that makes 8 with 13 scholarships. Is Brittan-Watts coming back? If so, that makes 9 with 2 committed recruits. That leaves Zagorzac, Brown, Bell & Adams. I am also assuming Futa is a walk-on. They all cannot come back. If they would all stay and you count Brittan-Watts and the 2 incomers, you have 15 kids for 13 scholarships. Something has to give. Was telling my friend this during the game. While none of us would consider Hendricks a bona fide D1 center, Whitford giving him almost zero minutes of development even during 25-30 point games win or lose was inexcusable and one of my biggest peeves with him as a coach, not developing players or allowing them to regress. That lack of on-court development and confidence really didn't mesh with his "player's coach" persona. Had he gained some experience in Year 1-3 rather than being shuffled off as a project, he could have spelled Sparks a few times last year when needed or been a contributor earlier this season.

Just don’t let him play cornerback..😂 I told Calhoun last night that at the end of the wmu game Jones looked like one of our safeties from a few years ago when we were getting torched deep regularly….

Looks like Adams is just not physically able. Bell not mentally...Brown is apparently not legally able. Zagorsak, getting some minutes, just not very good, although better than the walk on. I watched practice with Hendriks early times. He had not come in ready, didn't deserve PT. Good kid. Needed a fire lit some way, not Whits strength. exactly.

Most MAC games have been relatively close. Within 10 points either way. Not exactly games full of developmental time.
In games where things have gotten out of hand, Lewis has generally played more of the bench (when it's been available).

I think he's worth holding on to. I'd jettison Bell and Brown. Not a clue about Adams.
