I noticed today Sweep has not logged in since June. I know he had some heart issues. Anyone have any idea how he's doing?

Not surprised by this. We never throw more than 3-4 yards past the line of scrimmage unless it is 3rd down in which case we throw 2 yards short of the line to gain.

Jacksonstreetdreg, we can hear you now..."mom, we need more meatloaf!" Besides financially giving to our athletic department, my Ball U college buddies use major games (including all bowls since '89) as reunions. We have been to: Tenn, Penn St, NC St, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Ga St, Virginia, Mich, Indiana, Northwestern, Nebraska, Auburn, Clemson (I'm sure i'm missing some) which required a hell of alot more financial commitment and time than getting in your Pinto and driving two miles. We showed up, unfortunately the team did not in a few of those. I moved out of state due to promotions. I just wish more peeps from Indy made the 1 hour drive to enjoy a fall day with a competitive FB team. Again to those who do make the effort, your fellow alumni appreciate your commitment. And no, we would not be interested in going to Ferris St. Sure, pick one game every 10 years and soothe your guilt over abandoning us to attend the rest of the games by ourselves. I’m sure the players really appreciate you! Who ever heard of moving out of state to accept a promotion to head greeter at walmart? What a bunch of bullshit.

Here's a crazy idea. Why dont you guys in Indiana get off your arses and computers in your mom's basement and support the FB team (and other sports) at games. To those of you who do show, out of state alumni appreciate your efforts. From what I see on tv, that's not many of you. And quit talking about dropping to a lower division or dropping FB. We are on this board to support our student athletes as fans of our university. The majority of us don't give a damn about your accounting background. Keep your BS financial reality (or lack thereof) with numbers to yourself. Fans / alumni enjoy sports to get away from reality. Quit pissing on our entertainment. If you gave a shit you’d move back here. Don’t act all holier than thou when you abandoned Ball State, Muncie, and the fine state of Indiana.

I like reasons we think we will win games? The fan in me of course wants us to win them all but when I look at numbers and matchups I just struggle to find winnable games if we play like we have been playing. We can beat Eastern because they are Eastern. As for the rest of the schedule I’m with you. We have got to win this weekend and then count on Maction craziness to get us to 6

The KID’S annual optimism is surprisingly tempered in his placement of the Cardinals. Me, being realistically pessimistic based on historical data, project the influence of Michael Lewis to be beyond even the hopes and dreams of The BSU Kid. Top 4 MAC at the worst. Book your disgusting rooms in Cleveland now before the seasons end rush! Given where we were with Whitford and what we bring back I’d say if Lewis is an improvement we should definitely be in the running for a championship.

I was perusing other teams schedules and Miami Ohio is playing a very Indiana heavy ooc schedule.
Evansville Goshen IU ISU Calumet Saint Mary of the Woods
They must have noticed all the success we’ve had against IU Kokomo and Oakland City and they want a piece of that.

I feel that teams 1-8 could finish in any random order and I would be able to comprehend those standings. Things are wide open this year. Yeah I started looking at this to make a guess, but I have no idea. I see two tiers and anything is possible within the tiers.

We’re favored so I’d agree with winnable. But both teams are Jekyll and Hyde. Before the line was posted I said I expected it to open even and it wouldn’t surprise me if either team won by 21.

I attended the practice taking a Purdue friend. I was embarrassed with the attendance. Zero students. Maybe 150 fans. I guess that I overestimated the IU attendees too. Very disappointed that our students and fans show this support to a new coach and many new players. I thought that there would be a couple thousand in attendance. Very poor support! We get a couple thousand for games these days.

I don’t understand it because it makes no sense, but for some reason I want to watch as much BSU football as possible. So yeah I want us to go bowling. If I’m going to ponder the unsolvable I will focus on why I put myself through this rather than why 6-6 teams play bowl games.

Reading early game comments woukd have one think we were down by 4 touchdowns... c'mon guys, the doom and gloom comments are kinda feeble. "Just win baby"....Al Davis RIP For those of us who saw it live or on ESPN3, the doom and gloom was warranted. I stand by any tweet or post I might have made in-game. Yeah these postgame “haha you guys were silly” posts always annoy me. We played like crap. Winning is better than losing but it’s not like the win just made all the issues disappear. We have to play better to reach even the very modest goal of a .500 season.

I had to leave after the first quarter for a family obligation. I just finished the replay and holy hell. I’ll take it, but these are the most excruciating wins I’ve ever experienced.
The main thing I noted is that we have ABSOLUTELY no deep threat. We either run or pass it within 4 yards of the line of scrimmage. Our o-line is not cutting it. The backs have to make their own luck and Paddock rarely has any time. Even when he does have time he doesnt have enough touch for deep balls.
I dont see us reaching bowl eligibility here. I think EMU and Toledo are going to carve us up like a thanksgivng turkey.

Our offense inside the 5 yard line is about as bad as an offense can be.
