Sorry, but MAC football is just an endless series of big, fat, juicy, hanging curve balls right over the middle of the plate. If that's the case then I'd say suggesting that only matters of national import warrant the participants feeling pressure to succeed is a big fat juicy swing and a miss. I'd say it's more a case of when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. You have one point to make and you'll shoehorn it in to every conversation. Even though everyone's heard it before, neither you nor anyone else here can do anything about it, and nobody cares.

Yeah, what’s worse than the MAC champ getting a 5 loss App State opponent? The likelihood of loss. There is a ton of pressure on the MAC teams this year. Yeah a TON of pressure. If MAC teams do poorly in the bowls, as seems to be expected, nobody will be impressed and the programs will lose $10 million apiece next season that has to be covered by student fees. If MAC teams do surprisingly well in the bowls, nobody will be impressed and the programs will lose $10 million apiece next season that has to be covered by student fees. HUUUUGE pressure. The nation holds its breath. Congratulations on making an argument so stupid it actually stands out on a board where 00 posts.

Unfortunately I think the Sunbelt will win all those matchups. Probably another rough bowl season for the MAC. Yeah, what’s worse than the MAC champ getting a 5 loss App State opponent? The likelihood of loss. There is a ton of pressure on the MAC teams this year.

Ben Hendriks is quickly working his way onto the list of greatest Canadians of all time. Right up there with Dudley Do-Right, Alexander Graham Bell, Dan Aykroyd, and Francis Kiapway. Bell was a Scot.

At any rate, Mike will either prove he’s got what it takes to stabilize things and move us forward, or he’ll be done after next year and Mitchell can make his move and make his signature hire. Look at you, and your absurd optimism. Those of us who are realists know that we can surely expect secret option c, which is a 6-7 record (we squeak into a bowl game and lose), which is just enough to make it a tough decision for the AD. Then we’ll extend Mike and wont make a bowl the following year.

Former Card Bryant Haines is going to be IU’s d coordinator. His JMU defenses were damn good. If he does well at IU next year maybe he’ll be on the shortlist as HC candidate for us when Neu loses his job…. ( I don’t hope Neu loses his job next year, I hope we’re really good) No idea he was coaching. Remember his defensive presence fondly. Hope this is a long con on his part to take down IU from the inside.

I think Gus Martin said on Twitter that he has a bruise on his ankle bone and that he will be out for awhile. But I didn't know if that meant one month, two months, something else. It did seem like a tricky injury when I was reading about it online. With Britton-Watts, all I've heard is that he has a groin injury, but I have not a word on when he might be back. Bailey told me MRI was negative and he would be back soon but who knows what soon means Apparently in the medicine community negative means good. Which makes absolutely no sense.

The tough guy Bob Knight wanna-be shtick is not so cute and amusing when you're behind 90-55 against the #254 team in the country that is missing its two best players. How cute and amusing did you find it before that?

How many road games can we avoid this year? Blizzards? Flat tires? Traffic? Let’s not play any more games that arent in Muncie.

I think we vastly underestimate how much of a politician Mike is. Bingo. I personally do not subscribe at all to the idea that he is a good head coach and just doesn't have the right OC. I think it's a tough call. My view of the role of the head coach is largely to find the right coordinators. He definitely hasn't done that. But if we had an absolutely killer OC I think we'd be playing this weekend.

What I would say to Neu is I'd really like to see an offense where when we're first and goal at the 1-yard line, my first thought isn't "well at least it should be a short field goal attempt."

Social media will be the downfall of modern society. It's already had an incredibly negative effect on our mental health as a whole. Especially young people.

Looking at what I deemed the “attendance” sports, I calculated a winning % for each sport over the last 10 years. I pulled out the Covid year for each sport to be consistent. soccer. .661 Mvolleyball .654 Wvolleyball .633 baseball. .627 Wbasketball .587 softball. .571 Mbasketball .491 football. .387 If you’re up for more math I’d be curious what the percentages of attendance are there. Like what percent of total attendance do football and mbball make up?
